new employees have to put 13 days on charitable/community project before starting “work”

I love this idea …..  from Row 13‘s website:

Before Row 13 employees have the opportunity to work on client projects, they are first required to participate in a 13-day project. These are projects that allow our team members to spend the first 13 days at Row 13 giving back.

New crew members at Row 13, will receive a list of pre-approved projects from which they can choose. The projects on this list are ones that have been chosen and voted upon by our existing team. This list contains a wide variety of [charitable/community] endeavours, making it possible to find one that is really enjoyable and is worthy of significant time and energy devotion to complete.
